SIKU - when you hear this name, you think of robust die-cast models with high play value, bright colors and equally bright children's eyes. But before the production of the car models that are still so popular today began, the Sieper Werke, founded in 1921, was a foundry company with very different products from the consumer goods sector. It was not until the 1950s, with the start of the German economic miracle and the triumph of plastic production, that the SIKU brand was registered.
This lovingly designed illustrated book portrays the exciting history of SIKU and sheds light on the unique complete works from 100 years of company history as well as the remarkable creativity of the Lüdenscheid toy manufacturer. In 1954, SIKU launched its model range on the subject of traffic in the 1:60 scale, later expanding to over 400 items - from cars to traffic signs. Since 1963, the family company has been building the now legendary car models that now delight entire hordes of collectors. Ulrich Biene, an intimate connoisseur of the German toy landscape and author of numerous books on the subject, competently and knowledgeably traces the entire company history and also lets the people behind the brand have their say. A must for every toy collector and SIKU fan!
