Siku 1436 KTM X-Bow GT
KTM? Yes KTM!
The KTM of motorcycles.
Siku has once again added something special to its model line.
Without a doubt. Sometimes you can wait at Siku for a replacement of an existing model, so there is always a garbage truck in the range, a snow plow, a dump truck, a truck with trailer etc.
But a KTM X-Bow is a surprise that no one saw coming.
Very nice. Maybe that alone. But what exactly is it, a motorcycle with four wheels or a car? Well, maybe something of both.
At least it is in the class of the Ariel Atom and the Caterham Seven (in dream mode for a moment: will Siku release this one too?????).
That it is fast on the circuit is one thing that is certain, because in real life it has a very thick 4 cylinder 2 liter engine, with a weight of only 850 kilos.
Then you can reach 100 in a few seconds. And the corners are no problem either.
Coming back to the model, it is clear that Siku has a funny counter-offer to the violence of Hotwheels. To be honest, I expected it there sooner than with Siku.
I do not share that opinion myself, but I have heard people talking about the plastic used in the model.
The blue is plastic. But that detracts from the model.
But I think it is not too bad, it is all very well made and looks complex.
The tires are also pure slicks without a profile with soft rubber and the bottom plate is perfectly smooth.
Actually, the last thing Siku still needs to improve in its models is the interior.
The color is often missing there and everything is a bit vague, which is noticeable when you encounter an open roof.
Siku has really gone up in price in the last few years.
And the competition is not sleeping either.
For example, I sometimes see models from Norev made much more detailed than a comparable model from Siku. Admittedly, Siku is committed to making it strong so that children can play with it. That is of course also a reason, but as a collector you don't play with them... right...?
